Gratitude Thursday // Living a Life of Gratitude

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest
appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.

John F. Kennedy

In the day to day of regular life, sometimes it's just hard to remember to carve out a little time practicing gratitude for all of the things in your life.  Something that I am trying to do is make a conscious effort to do is spend some time each day meditating on what I am thankful for in life.
I want my gratefulness to be more than just words, just saying "Thank You".  I want to live a grateful life.  Part of that is going to find a place to consistently volunteer.  I feel that part of being truly grateful for what I have in my life should involve sharing some of that with others through volunteering - be it money, time or service.

How do you show gratitude in your life?  Also, any good ideas for places to volunteer?

  1. The last place I volunteered was a therapy clinic for children (mainly because it was the field I am interested in working in). Over the years I've also volunteered with Hospice, a local Literary Council (doing after school tutoring), and candy-striping at a hospital (although that's usually for young teens). Oh and animal shelters are almost always looking for volunteers!

    1. Those are some good ideas. Thanks! I've tried the local animal shelter, but they're popular. There's actually a waiting list. I love the idea of volunteering with kids. I think I'll have to look around for something kid related...
